The Regional UN4NAPs Forum for Asia and the Pacific, which will be held from 28 to 30 August 2023, in Songdo, Republic of Korea, country representatives from the Asian Pacific region, with a special focus on least developed countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS), will share and discuss their technical assistance needs related to NAP formulation and implementation that can be addressed by one or several of the more than 45 active partner organizations.

Through its network of partners from across the UN and beyond, UN4NAPs is able to identify opportunities for technical assistance from a set of organizations, thus able to convene expertise from a set of relevant agencies, tailored to the needs of countries.

The Regional UN4NAPs Forum for Asia and the Pacific will consist of four sessions, as presented below, as well as bilateral meetings with country representatives and UN4NAPs partner organizations, upon request, including to facilitate technical assistance as a response to ongoing requests by countries and to concretize the collaboration. This may include meetings in a hybrid format, to allow countries to tap into the expertise of the UN system and its partners in the most effective way.

The interactive sessions of the UN4NAPs Forum focus on different themes, emerging from the needs for technical assistance expressed by the countries towards the UN4NAPs initiative, in alignment with the priorities defined in respective countries’ NAPs.

Korea Global Adaptation Week

The forum is organized within the Korea Global Adaptation Week (KGAW) 2023, which includes the regional NAP Expo for Asia and the Pacific, the 8^th Asia Pacific Adaptation Network (APAN) Forum, and the Resilience Frontiers brainstorming meeting.
