Capacity-building Hub at COP31
CBHub942x604

At COP31, the Hub's programme focuses on the practical implementation of nationally determined contributions (NDCs) and national adaptation plans (NAPs). Sessions are organized around five overarching themes and tailored to specific audiences, including government officials, negotiators, technical experts, development practitioners and youth.

Themes

Mitigation: Sessions cover capacity-building for clean energy systems, electrification and NDC implementation, including peer exchange among countries.

Adaptation: Sessions focus on building resilience in vulnerable contexts from mountain regions to early warning systems, and on turning adaptation frameworks into national action.

Finance, technology and capacity-building (FTC): Sessions focus on capacity-building related to access and scaling of climate finance and uptake and scaling of environmentally sound technologies.

PCCB focus area: A series of sessions explores long-term capacity-building for individuals, local organizations and institutions to improve access to climate finance for locally led adaptation and enhance local ownership.

Negotiations and UNFCCC process: Sessions build skills to engage in the UNFCCC process, including the Enhanced Transparency Framework.
