Module 4 provides guidance and learning on diverse topics on economic diversification and transformation. The module aims at distilling information on climate-related economic diversification and transformation, benefits of diversifying economies, the strategies and policy instruments used in the process, and institutional coordination mechanisms for economic diversification, amongst others.

By the end of the module, learners will be expected to gain:

• An understanding of the concept of economic diversification and transformation and its benefits in the context of climate policies;
• An introductory understanding of the entry points possible for countries to diversify their economies;
• Knowledge of the various tools and instruments used in the process of economic diversification;
• Insights on the potential risks arising from implementing economic diversification strategies and the approaches to managing them; and,
• Insights from the experience of countries that have applied economic diversification strategies
