Mandate

In decisions 6/CP.30, 2/CMP.20, and 14/CMA.7, the COP, CMP and CMA decided that the forum will conduct an activity to determine the information to be provided for the technical assessment component of the second global stocktake at SB 64 (June 2026) (Activity 2 of the workplan of the forum and its KCI for 2026-2030).

Guiding questions

• Building on the outcome of the first global stocktake, what aspects of the consideration of efforts related to addressing the social and economic consequences and impacts of response measures would most benefit from being reflected in the contribution to the second global stocktake?
• Considering the distinct role of the Forum and the KCI, how could these bodies contribute to the technical assessment component of the second global stocktake?
