Background 

In challenging times, it is easy to fall into the trap of despair, aiming to predict 'what's next', but this can lead us to react out of fear or get stuck in 'business as usual' dynamics. Being futures literate means challenging our assumptions and collaborating on more creative solutions, exploring together alternative scenarios for a better future in the face of climate change. Furthermore, in the context of climate, we need to think about the unthinkable. Therefore, this literacy is about enhancing competencies that enable us to anticipate, adapt, and seize new opportunities for climate resilience and transformation. For that purpose, we have tools to envision, design, and act towards more transformative futures for the climate, the planet, and overall well-being.

Objectives

• Deepen participants' understanding of futures literacy as competencies to address the triple planetary crisis.

• Facilitate a playful yet meaningful engagement to encourage creative and actionable insights that inspire transformative change.

• Generate creative outputs for synthesis, reporting and contribution to the Global Mutirão.
