Background

The Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) has been learning about the tools, approaches and strategies needed for more evidence-based decision making and climate action since 2019. This session aims to share some of the key lessons learned by CDKN partners in Africa, Asia and Latin America as they have sought to move from information to action, using diverse knowledge brokering and co-creation approaches. As will become clear in the session, these strategies and tools constitute a crucial element to reach more just, inclusive and sustainable climate outcomes.

Objectives

  1. Increase understanding of the concept and principles of knowledge brokering and co-creation.
  2. Strengthen skills and awareness about different knowledge and innovation brokering tools, approaches, and strategies that participants can apply in their current and future work.
  3. Raise awareness about the critical role of co-creation and knowledge brokering to reach more inclusive, sustainable and equitable outcomes.
