CPIA-GEM Interface

Climate Policy Impact Assessment - General Equilibrium Model (CPIA-GEM) Interface

The Climate Policy Impact Assessment – General Equilibrium Model Interface, CPIA-GEM Interface, is a new user-friendly tool developed by the UNFCCC to help make sophisticated modeling tools accessible to more stakeholders by simplifying how users interact with complex economic models.

Built on the GAMS platform, the interface allows users to set custom policy scenarios and explore impacts of such policies on global emissions, growth and trade. With a click, the user can visualize results with intuitive graphs and charts, including scenario comparisons and country-level outcomes.

The tool is free, practical, and interactive—aimed at reducing barriers to entry for impact assessment and increasing transparency in policy evaluation. It can also be accessed by a non-technical audience, enabling diverse stakeholders to understand climate policies and participate in the policy-making process.

The UNFCCC continues to improve and include more scenarios to the interface.
