Capacities for the Future Day | 7th Capacity Building Hub

19 November 2025

Future trans
Despite ongoing challenges and setbacks in global climate action, individuals, communities, institutions and countries are making meaningful efforts to navigate the long-term challenges of planetary health and well-being. This thematic day focuses on the "unknown future" as a critical knowledge gap, responding to the need to think beyond the constraints of present realities. For this purpose, the day's sessions aim to foster transformative capacities to enable systemic thinking, innovation and creativity for deep changes to explore alternative futures in line with the SG's UN 2.0 initiative. Capacities for the Future Day aims to integrate diverse knowledge systems, including cultural, artistic, and scientific perspectives, to co-create regenerative and equitable futures through knowledge sharing, imagination, and open dialogue.
