The Durban Forum on Capacity-building is an annual, in-session event organized under the auspices of the SBI that brings together stakeholders involved in building the capacity of developing countries to mitigate and adapt to climate change.

The Forum is a means to improve the monitoring and review of the effectiveness of capacity-building within the intergovernmental climate change process. The Forum also provides inputs to the work of the Paris Committee on Capacity-building. Thus, the themes of the Forum are aligned with the focus area of the PCCB.

Due to the cross-cutting nature of capacity-building, information on related activities tends to be fragmented and not readily available. The Forum brings all stakeholders together to enhance coordination further.
