Media accreditation is strictly reserved for media professionals (print, photo, radio, television, film, news agencies and online media) who represent a bona fide media organization formally registered as a media organization in a country recognized by the United Nations General Assembly.
Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis. The UN Climate Change secretariat reserves the right to deny or withdraw accreditation of journalists from media organizations whose activities run counter to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations, or who abuse the privileges so extended or put the accreditation to improper use or act in a way not consistent with the principles of the Organization.
Accreditation is required for all media who wish to cover UN Climate Change meetings.
The secretariat does not accept accreditations via any other channel (e-mail, post, etc.). Any accreditation materials not sent through the online system will not be processed.
Please check carefully to ensure that all documents meet requirements and that applicant details are consistent throughout the application.
Please monitor your ORS account in case further documentation or information is needed to process your application. Once your application is confirmed you will receive a Registration Acknowledgement Form
Any inquiries should be communicated through your online registration account or directed to press@unfccc.int.
Please note that applying for accreditation does not guarantee registration. The secretariat may, at any time and for safety and security reasons, put measures in place to manage the number of accredited media who are able to attend the conference.
If you have received the confirmation of your accreditation, you will be registered for the conference.
Print out the Registration Acknowledgement Form and bring it with you to the conference (alternatively you can show Registration Acknowledgement Form at the registration desk from your mobile device).
You may collect your badge on-site at the media registration desk at the conference venue. Registration usually opens the weekend before the meeting starts.
Your photo will be taken at the registration station; it is not necessary to send a photo in advance.
You must present the same valid photo ID you have used in your ORS profile.
