UN Climate Change News, 3 November 2022 – Following the success of previous years, the Capacity-building Hub at COP27 will once again welcome climate change capacity-building organizations, experts, practitioners, and enthusiasts to contribute towards enabling greater climate action across the world. 

The Capacity-building Hub is a direct response to the Paris Committee on Capacity Building’s (PCCB) mission to address current and emerging gaps and needs in implementing and further enhancing climate change capacity-building in developing countries.

The 4^th Capacity-building Hub is set to open with its Capacity-building Day on 9 November. This will be followed by various thematic days including:

• Implementing Articles 6 & 13 of the Paris Agreement Day;
• Just Transition & Sustainable Economies Day
• Open Space Learning Day
• Oceans & Land Day
• Building Capacities with the Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) Day

It will close with the PCCB’s Focus Area Day.

Forty-eight different events will be organized by 55 diverse organizations that will populate these seven thematic days under the umbrella of the 4^th Capacity-building Hub.

While the 1^st Capacity-building Hub at COP24 laid the foundation for an inclusive and engaging platform for the flourishing community of capacity-building actors, the 2^nd Capacity-building Hub at COP25 further broadened the range of actors involved. At the 3^rd Capacity-building Hub at COP26, more than 4,700 participants and over 250 experts from across sectors and regions gathered to exchange knowledge and information on capacity-building gaps, needs and opportunities. The PCCB is now ready to welcome everyone to the 4^th Capacity-building Hub at COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

This year, the Capacity-building Hub brings together diverse lead partners including International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD), United Nations University’s Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS), the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), International Labour Organization (ILO), World Resources Institute (WRI), Mediators Beyond Borders International (MBBI), International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and CliMates to create a space for representation, collaboration and knowledge sharing in the climate-related capacity-building landscape.

Building on the successful experience of previous years, the 4^th Capacity-building Hub will continue to be a space for experiences and ideas to enable more ambitious climate action, especially in this era of implementation.
