The orientation session is a key initiative by the secretariat to empower children and youth delegates, enabling their active and effective participation in the UNFCCC process.

This practice, which began at SB58 and has been requested by delegates and stakeholders to continue at every SB and COP, is held on the first day, ideally during lunchtime.

Its primary goal is to equip young delegates with essential, first-hand information directly from the secretariat's substantive and cross-cutting teams.

The session focuses on providing guidance on how to engage in both mandated and non-mandated events, as well as other activities, processes, and opportunities for engagement, with a specific emphasis on Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) and youth-related events.
