It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our colleague and friend Rajesh Sethi.

Mr. Sethi had been a valued staff member of the UN Climate Change secretariat since 2011. His association with the secretariat was even longer. He was part of the Indian delegation to the UNFCCC since 2002 and served as Chair of the CDM Executive Board in 2008. 

“I will always remember Rajesh as a kind, knowledgeable but humble and hardworking colleague, who deeply cared for the organization and his team. His contribution to the secretariat and to our mission has been enormous. He will be missed,” said UN Climate Change Executive Secretary Patricia Espinosa. 

Rajesh leaves behind a wife and son, as well as many friends and colleagues in Bonn, India and many parts of the world.

The UN Climate Change secretariat has set up condolences@unfccc.int to receive messages of condolence and pay tribute to Rajesh Sethi.
