This note, prepared in collaboration with Global Environment Facility (GEF) secretariat, contains information relevant to the assessment of the funding necessary to assist developing countries in fulfilling their commitments under the Convention. It paragraph 1 (a)–(d) of the annex to the memorandum of understanding and presented in national communications of Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention and of Parties included in Annex II to the Convention, and guidance provided by the Conference of the Parties to the GEF. Also included is information provided by United Nations organizations and international financial institutions on their activities which support the efforts of Parties in the implementation of the
Convention, as well as references to private capital flows
