Abstract

The Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA), at its thirty-second session, welcomed the updated information on developments in research activities and emerging scientific findings relevant to the needs of the Convention provided by regional and international climate change research programmes and organizations (hereinafter referred to as research programmes and organizations) in the context of the research dialogue under the SBSTA (FCCC/SBSTA/2010/6, para. 46). At the same session, the SBSTA encouraged research programmes and organizations to continue to provide, for consideration under the research dialogue in the future, information on developments in research activities outlined in document FCCC/SBSTA/2007/4, paragraph 47(añf), taking into account views expressed by Parties, priorities emerging within the UNFCCC process and activities undertaken in support of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change towards the preparation of its fifth assessment report (FCCC/SBSTA/2010/6, para. 47). The secretariat has received eight such submissions. In accordance with the procedure for miscellaneous documents, these submissions are attached and reproduced in the language in which they were received and without formal editing
