The Conference of the Parties, at its second session, by its decision 10/CP.2 requested the Convention secretariat “to make available to the Subsidiary Body for Implementation at each of its sessions, details of the financial support made available to Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (non-Annex I Parties) from the interim operating entity of the
financial mechanism for the preparation of their initial communications, including projects in this regard proposed by each Party, the funding decisions and the date and amount of funds made available to the Party” (FCCC/CP/1996/15/Add.1).
The attached table contains information provided by the Secretariat of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) in response to that decision. In accordance with the procedure for miscellaneous documents, the table is reproduced in English only and without formal editing. Relevant information concerning the GEF can also be found in the document by the GEF Monitoring and Evaluation Programme entitled “Study of GEF’s Overall Performance”. In accordance with the guidelines for the review of the financial mechanism adopted by the SBI at its fifth session (see annex II to document FCCC/SBI/1997/6), this study will be made available to delegations during the session in the six official languages of the United Nations
