Conference
Proceedings on the Internet
People
around the world can use the Internet to follow the negotiations at this session
of the Conference of the Parties of the Climate Change Convention and its subsidiary
bodies. From 29 October, to the end of the conference on 9 November, all official
meetings and other selected events will be available from the conference website:
unfccc.int/cop7/webcast/.
Owing
to the dynamic nature of the negotiations, meetings and other events will be recorded
when and where they happen, rather than being streamed live. All on-demand
recordings can be accessed from the on-demand database 30 minutes after completion
of the meeting or event. Each recording is classified by date, agenda item
and type of meeting. A special feature of the on-demand archives are ‘video
anchors’ that allows one to go directly to the discussion of a particular agenda
item. Audio/video on-demand archives will be delivered where possible in the original
language and in English. An information-frame lists each item on the agenda,
while a subtitling frame provides detailed information on the item under discussion
or on the speaker.
All
official meetings of the Conference of the Parties, the Subsidiary Body for Implementation
and the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice will be available
on-demand. In addition, selected side events of the Parties, secretariat
and nongovernmental organizations as well as press conferences and briefings will
be made available.
A schedule
of available events can be found by clicking on the Programme button on the website.
In addition, a timetable and Meetings
listing, is automatically generated and posted to the website throughout the
day to provide information on additions or changes in the programme schedule.
