Special Events / Exhibits:

What is going on "around" COP 8 ..?
Special events are being organized by all the various groups of participants of the COP. A full schedule of events, focusing on the major negotiating issues as well as on cross cutting issues will provide a vigorous programme at lunch times and the evenings for COP 8 participants. Key topics include vulnerability and adaptation, CDM, LULUCF and mitigation, and there is a distinct South Asian focus. ENB on the Side (ENBoTS) will provide coverage of some of these events.

Exhibits by the same broad spectrum of participants will be on display on the three floors of the Vigyan Bhawan. Information on climate change issues, including climate friendly projects, research results, modeling of emissions trends, business activities will be available for interested participants.

During sessions of the Conference of the Parties and its subsidiary bodies, observer organisations, as well as Parties to the Convention, may request to organise special events or exhibitions in the conference centre. These activities create an informative backdrop to the official meetings, allowing civil society an opportunity to voice their concerns, exchange their experiences and showcase their studies to a broad audience.

At the Kiosk:

A special feature of the kiosk is Climate Talk where representatives of Governments, UN bodies, IGOs and NGOs are invited to give 10-15 minute presentations relating to one of the themes:

- Vulnerability and Adaptation
- Climate and Business
- CDM and Other Mechanisms
- Climate Change and Development

The goal of these theme days is to demonstrate linkages between, and share information about, the work of Parties, UN bodies, IGOs, NGOs and others that are active in the climate change process.

Presenters in the Climate Talk theme days should be prepared to give a short talk, presentation or demonstration on work or projects related to a particular theme and be willing to grant permission to record and webcast the talk, presentation or demonstration, and to make available for informational purposes related information (e.g. fact sheets, powerpoint slides, etc.).

The webcast of the talk and other information materials will be posted on this website under the link `' At the Kiosk"
