Conference Proceedings Live on the Internet

People around the world can use the Internet to follow the negotiations at the resumed session of the Conference of the Parties of the Climate Change Convention and its subsidiary bodies. From today, 16 July, to the end of the conference on 27 July, all official meetings and other selected events will be available from the conference website: unfccc.int/cop6_2/webcast/.

To make it easy to follow the live stream, the webcast pages, based on Real Video/Audio player technology, have been enhanced with several new features. An information frame lists each item on the agenda, while a subtitling frame provides detailed information on the item under discussion or on the speaker. Recordings will be stored in an on-demand archive for future use. Each meeting or event recording will be available 30 minutes after completion, classified by date, agenda item and type of meeting. A special feature of the on-demand archives are ‘video anchors’ that allow one to go directly to the discussion of a particular agenda item. Audio/video on-demand archives will be delivered where possible in the original language and in English.

All official meetings of the Conference of the Parties, the Subsidiary Body for Implementation and the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technical Advice will be available live and on-demand. In addition, selected side events of the Parties, secretariat and nongovernmental organizations as well as press conferences and briefings will be made available. A schedule of available events can be found by clicking on Programme button on the website. In addition, a timetable is automatically generated and posted to the website throughout the day to provide information on additions or changes in the programme schedule.
