Sameh Shoukry was elected as President of COP 27.

The COP agreed to continue to apply the draft rules of procedure contained in document FCCC/CP/1996/2, with the exception of draft rule 42.
On a proposal by the President, the COP agreed to continue consideration of this matter at COP 28.

Consultations convened by the COP 27 Presidency. Proposal to include this matter on the provisional agenda of the next session.

First part of the high-level segment convened on 7 and 8 November and second part on 15 and 16 November.

The Presidency proposed to hold informal consultations on the proposal from Georgia regarding equitable geographical representation in constituted bodies under the Convention. Despite fruitful exchanges, no consensus was reached on this matter.

The draft report was adopted as contained in document FCCC/CP/2022/L.1 on the understanding that the Rapporteur, with the assistance of the secretariat, will complete the report and make it available to all Parties.

The secretariat provided a preliminary assessment of the resource implications of decisions adopted by the COP.

The COP adopted the Resolution "Expression of gratitude to the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the people of the city of Sharm el Sheikh", which was presented by the United Arab Emirates.
