Introduction
Central element for implementing the Paris Agreement are the nationally determined contributions (NDCs) of each Party. NDCs are national climate plans highlighting climate actions, including climate related targets, policies and measures governments aims to implement in response to climate change and as a contribution to global climate action. Central to the NDCs is the concept of national determination.
The NDC Webinar series was therefore created as a forum to discuss various aspects of the NDCs. They also allow interactive participation, by giving the opportunity to the audience asking questions to the presenters.
Interested stakeholders are invited to join in the three different discussion areas in 2019:
- Planning for NDCs: Presentation of the Party's NDC, including a summary of it, the planned actions on how to integrate NDC implementation into the national plans or strategies, in line with ongoing works on SDGs at the national level.
- Support for NDCs: Presentation by Parties and experts on how to prepare “national budget” or “organizational budget” to support NDC implementation.
- News about NDCs: Presentation of NDC related topics supported by the UNFCCC. Discussions could include updates on negotiations and the UNFCCC process.
