Saffrey Brown, General Manager, Jamaica National Foundation

As General Manager of the JN Foundation for 10 years, Saffrey Brown has propelled the organisation to become one of Jamaica’s leading corporate foundations. With a strong conviction that the power of a nation lies in its people, Saffrey has forged projects and partnerships, both on local and global platforms, with the prime objective of empowering Jamaicans.

She dedicates a significant amount of time working with internal and external partners to identify, develop and provide technical support to projects and programmes that focus on issues relating to sustainable socio-economic development.

With twenty years of extensive experience in development work, Saffrey specializes in social enterprise and economic projects, sustainable programming and community grant schemes; and has effectively implemented urban regeneration programmes in Jamaica and the United Kingdom. She is also an expert in forging partnerships and has worked in the NGO and private sectors.

Currently the chair of the Council of Voluntary Social Services, the umbrella organization for the voluntary sector in Jamaica; Saffrey holds a B.A. degree in Geography from The University of the West Indies at Mona, and a C.I.B.E from Columbia Business School.
