Jan Brooke, representing the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC)
Jan Brooke is the Focal Point for ‘Navigating a Changing Climate’, a Marrakech Partnership Global Climate Action initiative led by PIANC, the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure. Jan is also the UK representative on PIANC’s EnviCom and on their Permanent Task Group on Climate Change. In this latter capacity, she is the mentor for Working Group 178, an international group of experts developing technical guidance on climate change adaptation for ports and inland waterways.
In her ‘day job’, Jan works as an independent advisor to the waterborne transport sector. In addition to advising on climate change adaptation, she specialises in ensuring that port and navigation infrastructure and operations comply with relevant national and international environmental legislation.
