Non-economic losses

Strategic workstream (b) of the five-year workplan of the Executive Committee is to enhance cooperation and facilitation in relation to non-economic losses.

Upcoming activities include: establishing an expert group on non-economic losses (NELs); developing an awareness-raising strategy and related knowledge products; inviting the expert group on NELs, in collaboration with the Executive Committee to collect, synthesize and disseminate information on available tools to assess NELs; inviting the expert group on NELs to work jointly with the Task Force on Displacement to develop guidelines for averting, minimizing and addressing NELs in the context of human mobility; fostering partnerships with relevant stakeholders; and inviting partners to coordinate capacity-building events at the regional and national levels.

For further information on activities of the Executive Committee on NELs, see the five-year workplan.
