In order to attend sessions representatives of UN bodies and organizations need to be officially nominated by their respective heads to the Executive Secretary of the secretariat.
Please send the formal letter of nomination to sessions@unfccc.int.

Please note that UN organizations and agencies are not required to apply for admission to the UNFCCC process.

Changing the designated contact point

To nominate or change a designated contact point, UN organizations are kindly asked to send official communication to sessions@unfccc.int.

Applying for side events and exhibits

For COPs, side events and exhibits of the UN system and its specialized agencies are coordinated by the secretariat.

For other UNFCCC sessions (e.g. SBs), UN system organizations may apply individually.

Please consult the Side Events and Exhibits Online Registration System (SEORS) for further information.

Convention bodies often request written input, called submissions, on views and information on various issues under negotiation. These mandates are extended to non-Party stakeholders, including UN organizations. Such inputs are channeled through the submission and statement portal. Further information, including on how to set up an account, are available here.
