All participants are requested to register at the registration desk upon arrival at the venue: United Nations Conference Centre of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), Rajadamnern Nok Avenue, Bangkok 10200, Thailand.

A valid photo ID in addition to a letter of acknowledgement from the online registration system should be presented to the registration staff.

Early registration from Saturday, 1 September to Monday, 3 September 2018 is highly recommended to avoid delays on the first day of the sessions.

Registration times:
Saturday, 1 September to Sunday, 9 September 2018, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Multiple registrations for the conference are not permitted (i.e. registration as an observer organization representative and a Party or State representative and/or press/media representative).


An official conference badge is needed to access the premises. The badge is issued only on the basis of a confirmation from the ORS. For security reasons, all participants are requested to wear their badges visibly at all times.

Press conferences

Parties, observer States and IGOs/NGOs wishing to hold press/media briefings during the conference should inform the secretariat in advance to what extent they intend to hold such briefings.

Use of camera and audio/video recording devices

The taking of still photographs and making of audio or video recordings within a United Nations designated conference venue is subject to the guidelines for the use of devices and other guidance or instructions deemed relevant by the secretariat or United Nations Security.


Participants requiring a visa are strongly encouraged to contact the appropriate consular authorities as soon as possible. For more information, please consult the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Thailand.

Accommodation and transport

Media representatives accredited to cover UNFCCC meetings are responsible for their own travel and hotel bookings.  The secretariat does not block hotel rooms for the media, nor does it provide funding to cover the cost of travel or accommodation.


Participants are strongly encouraged to obtain comprehensive international medical insurance for their period of participation. The United Nations and the UNFCCC secretariat disclaim all responsibility for medical, accident and travel insurance, for compensation for death or disability, for loss of or damage to personal property and for any other costs or losses that may be incurred during travel time or the period of participation.

In the interest of the security and safety of all participants and the smooth running of the conference, the UNFCCC secretariat reserves the right to deny and/or restrict access to the conference premises or to request registered participants to leave the premises.

The UNFCCC secretariat shall not be responsible for any or all expenses incurred by nominated participants who are requested to leave the premises or are refused registration or access to the conference for which they have been nominated and/or registered as participants.
