Abstract
This booklet highlights the extensive expertise mobilized by the Executive Committee (ExCom) of the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage through its thematic expert groups. It provides organizational information about the ExCom and its five thematic expert groups: the Expert Group on Slow Onset Events, the Expert Group on Non-Economic Losses, the Technical Expert Group on Comprehensive Risk Management, the Task Force on Displacement, and the Action and Support Expert Group. Additionally, the booklet presents details on the academic backgrounds, publications, professional experiences, and current affiliations of the expert members from these groups, as well as the 20 members of the ExCom. By compiling the profiles of all members, the booklet emphasizes the wealth of knowledge being catalyzed under the UNFCCC process to support developing countries in responding to loss and damage associated with climate change impacts, including extreme weather events and slow onset events. This diverse range of multi-disciplinary expertise underlines how support for loss and damage encompasses the entire risk continuum, including social protection, recovery, restoration, rehabilitation measures, and transformative approaches.
