2024 - Call for A6.4 methodology roster of experts

The Supervisory Body at its 10th meeting (para 20 of the SB 010 meeting report) agreed to launch a focused call for experts from Least Developed Countries, Small Island Developing States and Eastern European States with an aim to improving regional balance in the roster of experts and for consideration to serve the Methodological Expert Panel (MEP) in the future.

The duration of the call is for six weeks. The call is open from 13 March 2024 until 24 April 2024, 23:59 CET.

Minimum requirements:

  • Familiarity with the Article 6.4 Rules, Modalities and Procedures (RMP) and relevant decisions of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement (CMA) and decisions related to the transition of activities from the CDM to the A6.4 Mechanism;
     
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and orally. A working knowledge of other United Nations languages is desirable;
     
  • Excellent drafting skills, strong operational and analytical skills, and an ability to work as a member of a team; 
     
  • Advanced university degree (Masters) in the relevant discipline. A combination of a university degree plus three years of additional relevant professional experience in the field may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree in the relevant discipline.


Remuneration:

Experts will be paid a daily fee and, if applicable, travel and daily subsistence allowance, in accordance with UN rules and regulations.

Candidates who applied to previous call for experts in 2022 or in 2023 need not apply again.

Experts wishing to be considered by the Supervisory Body are invited to apply. All applicants shall complete the application form(link is external), to ensure that:

*The P11 form should be completed and generated prior to finalizing the application form. Applicants can generate the P11 form via the UNFCCC HR portal.


Application process: 

The selection of experts will be decided by the Supervisory Body and announced in a meeting report of the Supervisory Body. According to its Rules of Procedure (See Annex II, section VIII. Expert Groups), the Supervisory Body may establish expert groups comprising internal or external experts, such as committees, panels, working groups and/or rosters of experts, as required, to assist it in performing its functions and achieving its objectives. The Supervisory Body may draw on the expertise necessary to perform its functions, including from the UNFCCC roster of experts. In this context, it shall take fully into account the consideration of regional and gender balance.
