Purpose
The Adaptation Committee has made substantive progress in its work to foster the engagement of the private sector in climate change adaptation planning and implementation, by convening events including a workshop on enhancing the engagement of the agri-food sector in climate change adaptation in collaboration with the International Trade Centre (ITC), the 2019 Adaptation Forum and (Regional) Technical Expert Meetings. This side event aims to advance the work on private sector engagement and gathering feedback by presenting main elements of a toolkit, prepared in collaboration with the NAP Global Network and Winrock International. The toolkit aims to enable policy makers to more effectively collaborate with the private sector, especially Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), in adaptation planning and implementation, in particular in the process of formulating and implementing National Adaptation Plans.
