In the words of UNEP Executive Director Achim Steiner: If someone proposed that you could save close to 2.5 million lives annually, cut global crop losses by around 30 million tonnes a year and curb climate change by around half a degree Celsius, what would you do? ACT of course."
Short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) are everywhere in our lives, impacting the climate system and the quality of our air. Recent scientific assessments coordinated by UNEP have identified cost-effective and readily available measures which target emissions of SLCPs in key sectors. Rapid uptake of these measures could bring rapid and multiple benefits for human well-being.
