  • Registration and Media Accreditation

    Registration of all participants, including representatives of Observer organizations and the media, takes place at the Registration Counter located in the tent outside the Vigyan Bhawan, as follows:
    Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
    Saturday, 19 October - Sunday, 20 October 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
    Monday, 21 October - Tuesday, 22 October 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.

    Media participation in the conference is subject to accreditation from UNFCCC. Please note that in view of space constraints, press accreditation is limited strictly to media representatives who fully meet United Nations accreditation standards and requirements. It will be granted upon presentation of valid press credentials and a letter of assignment. Press passes may be collected at the Press Accreditation Counter, located in the Registration tent, upon presentation of two photo IDs (passport, national press card, driving licence, work ID, etc.) or a photo press pass from the United Nations in New York, Geneva, Vienna, or Nairobi.

    Please note that double registration for the sessions is not permitted (e.g., as a State representative and simultaneously as an Observer organization representative, or as a State representative and simultaneously as a press/media representative).

    The Daily Programme (23 October-01 November) provides information on all scheduled meetings of the Convention bodies, including their timing and venue, and the agenda items to be considered. It also provides schedules of the meetings of other groups and of press briefings, as well as other announcements relevant to the conference. The Programme is available at the Documents Distribution Counter and on the UNFCCC web site (

    Please note that information contained in the Programme is subject to change according to the needs of the negotiating process.

    Important announcements or last-minute changes not contained in Daily Programme is displayed on the CCTV monitors located inside Vigyan Bhawan and the Annex building. This information can also be found on the UNFCCC web site.

    The Information Desk, located in the main foyer, provides information about the meetings and the venue.

    Media servicesTop

    International Media Centre. The International Media Centre, located in the Annex building of Vigyan Bhawan, offers various services to accredited members of the press, including TV and radio coverage facilities, work facilities for the print media and a UN Press Documents Counter.

    Hours: During the conference, the International Media Centre is operational 24 hours a day (limited services between midnight and 7 a.m.)

    The Media Coordinator, the Conference Spokesperson and the Government Press Liaison Officer have their offices on the Ground Floor of the International Media Centre, Annex building of the Vigyan Bhawan.

    The Media Information Desk located in the Annex building of Vigyan Bhawan arranges bookings for the Press Conference Room and facilitates interviews with UN officials or delegates.

    Information on UNFCCC and Climate ChangeTop

    The Climate Change Kiosk. Located in the atrium of Vigyan Bhawan on the ground floor, the Climate Change Kiosk is staffed daily between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Climate Change Kiosk's primary goal is to provide information about climate change and the secretariat. It is a resource for anyone interested in:

    * Information on climate change information sources;
    * Background information on the climate change process and the secretariat;
    * Who's doing what in the process;
    * Who's doing what in the secretariat;
    * How to contact members of the secretariat;
    * How to obtain access to, or copies of, secretariat information products or services.


    The Climate Change Kiosk includes display panels as well as a computer with an Internet connection which will be used in providing assistance on how to:
    * Find relevant climate change information using the UNFCCC library online;
    * Search and retrieve climate change related information from the web;
    * Evaluate the quality of web-based information;
    * Locate other sources of climate change information.

    A special feature of the kiosk is Climate Talk Days where representatives of IGOs, NGOs, Business and Industry and Governments are invited to give 10-15 minute presentations relating to one of the following themes:

    The goal of these theme days is to demonstrate linkages between, and share information about, the work of Parties, IGOs, NGOs and others that are active in the climate change process. Presenters in the Climate Talk theme days should be prepared to give a short talk, presentation or demonstration on objectives, work or projects related to a particular theme (10-15 minutes) and be willing to grant permission to record and webcast the talk, presentation or demonstration, and to make available for informational purposes related information (e.g. fact sheets, powerpoint slides, etc.).     Access to the conference area is restricted to registered participants of the meetings. In order to help enforce the high security standards of the secretariat, participants are expected to wear their badges as soon as they are issued. They must be worn at all times and in all areas for the duration of the conference.

    Badges are issued only on the basis of a letter of nomination from Parties, Observer States or accredited Observer organizations. Lost badges must be reported to the Registration Desk immediately.
