CMA 5 called on Parties that have not yet done so to have in place their NAPs, policies and planning processes by 2025 and to have progressed in implementing them by 2030. Under this pillar, the idea is to first identify the NAPs expected to be concluded in 2026 or 2027 and bring them back to 2025. This will need a scheme to be devised with the GCF and support agencies to allow countries to still receive their USD 3 million GCF NAP readiness funding despite the contraction of the duration for formulation. This will also require proactive engagement with countries to work towards producing their NAPs by the deadline. Additional efforts will also be undertaken to mobilize relevant organizations to join forces in assisting all the developing that are yet to produce their NAPs.
