Background

Many organisations in the PCCB Network are dealing with virtual capacity-building these days. We may be focusing on different regions, touching on different themes, and looking towards different desired outcomes – but we´ve probably all suffered in similar ways!

This discussion-based session will start by sharing some of the experiences across a panel of representatives from various projects and regions in relation to virtual capacity building. Then we will break out into thematic small groups for the remaining half of the session to delve into specific themes of interest together, looking towards sharing experiences and finding solutions.

Objectives

This world café is organized as part of the Capacity-building Momentum to Recover Better event series by the PCCB Network. The objective of this session is to explore some intrinsic questions on the work and the why of capacity-building, and how such questions are affected when in the virtual space.

  1. Share some goals, difficulties, experiences and introspective considerations from across organisations that are currently facing the reality of virtual capacity-building in various forms and across various geographies
  2. Discuss various sub-themes of interest in smaller groups in order to exchange experiences, learn from each other and brainstorm mutual solutions.

Partners

The Climate Group (Under2 Coalition) is a non-profit organization that works with business and government leaders around the world to address climate change. In this event, we will hear from some of the work done across their networks around key themes of learning and engaging through virtual capacity-building.

The Climate Chance Association supports the central role of local climate action and the inseparable link between the climate agenda and the sustainable development goals. In this event, they will shed light on their work across the African region, the challenges they have faced, the lessons they learned, and the opportunities they have identified.
