Session 5: Feedback and initial commitments

The primary objective of this session is to synthesize the discussions and outcomes from the individual breakout groups and to provide a platform for announcing initial commitments from partners. This session aims to consolidate the progress made during the breakout discussions, allowing for a collective understanding of the potential and readiness of each project. It also serves as an opportunity for partners and investors to announce preliminary expressions of interest, setting a pathway towards formal agreements and project implementation.

Session 5: Outlook on future regional climate finance mobilization (2:00 PM - 3:30 PM)

This session will discuss past experiences in mobilizing finance at a regional scale. It will examine the additionality that the regional approach brings on the impacts of climate project, on the sustainability of those impacts, on the amount of finance mobilized as well as on the diversity of finance sources. It will also discuss the coordination arrangements among the 6 countries of the Island States in the Indian Ocean and provide recommendations in that regard.

Discussion Panel with Interactions from the floor: Representatives of beneficiary countries, funding agencies, implementing/accredited agencies share their views on best practices and lessons learned from preparation and implementation of regional projects.
