Background

Southern practitioners are recognized for their increased vulnerability to climate change. In order to address these vulnerabilities, it is recognized that efforts towards climate change solutions need to be action-based to ensure effective adaptation to reduce the risks from climate change, particularly for countries and communities that are most vulnerable. These efforts include collaborative projects funded by a variety of programmes using grants. In order to enhance the effectiveness of these programmes, it is necessary to examine the progress made and look forward to potential developments.

Objectives

  • Information-sharing on best practices for creating grants
  • Enhance the collaborative efforts of programmes involved in grants
  • Examine the outcomes of grants, including through greater ownership and empowerment of impacted communities
