In Lima, the ADP requested the secretariat to continue the technical examination of opportunities with high mitigation potential and significant co-benefits in the period 2015–2020 by organizing the in-session technical expert meetings (TEMs).

During the June session, the technical examination will focus on opportunities to accelerate energy efficiency action in urban environments. The meeting will assist Parties to advance in the implementation of good practice policy options and technologies, involve UNFCCC institutions and leading international organizations, and engage with a broad range of stakeholders. The discussion will build on the technical expert meeting on energy efficiency held in March 2014 and the technical expert meeting on urban environment held in June 2014.

Background information

Summary by the facilitator Ms. Sylvie Lemmet (France)
The detailed technical summary is included in the updated technical paper and its addendum on energy efficiency in urban environments.
