La redacción de la CMNUCC les presenta una nueva edición de la Canción del Clima para París, el tema "Speak for the trees" enviado por Earth Guardians y A-Natural.

"Speak for the trees" fue escrita durante el verano del 2014 por Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, líder de 14 años del grupo ambientalista no gubernamental Earth Guardians. La canción hip-hop está inspirada en el amor que Xiuhtezcat siente por la tierra y especialmente por los árboles. La canción es fruto de su deseo de usar la música para educar a las personas sobre el cambio climático.

Xiuhtezcatl y su amigo activista Itzcuauhtli, de 12 años, esperan inspirar a personas de todas las edades a preocuparse por el medio ambiente y avanzar hacia una acción positiva y creativa. Han actuado e intervenido en las Naciones Unidas, en escuelas, así como en conferencias y festivales de música en todo el mundo.

Los dos amigos trabajaron con otros activistas de Earth Guardians y con Aaron Ableman para hacer un videoclip para esta canción en el marco de la campaña One Billion Trees, una iniciativa mundial para impulsar la reforestación.

Aaron Ableman, músico, actor y autor conocido como A-Natural, dice que quiere explorar cómo mejorar el uso del poder universal del entretenimiento para inspirar a la humanidad.

La canción fue producida por Joe Alan Meador y los cantantes son los jóvenes de Earth Guardians Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, Martinez Itzcuauhtli, Isa Caress, Tonantzin Martinez y JoeAlan Meador.
