PROCEDURES TO APPLY FOR MEDIA ACCREDITATION

Bona fide representatives of the mass media -- press, photo, radio, television and film -- will be accredited to cover the Fifth Session of the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 5) to be held at the Maritim Hotel in Bonn, Germany from 25 October to 5 November 1999.

To avoid delays upon arrival at the conference, please submit the completed form on the back together with a letter of assignment from your Editor or Bureau Chief and a photocopy of your valid professional press card to:

The final date for receipt is 15 October 1999. Please note that you must still bring the required supporting documents with you to Bonn. No double registration for different capacities (e.g. press and delegate or press and NGO delegate) is allowed.

Press passes will be issued on your arrival at the conference upon presentation of two forms of photo ID (passport, official national press pass, driver’s license, work ID, etc.) or of a photo press pass from the United Nations in New York, Geneva, Vienna, or Nairobi. Passes can be picked up at the media accreditation counter, which will be operating at Deutsche Post AG, Robert-Schuman-Platz (Heinrich-von-Stephan-Str. 1), starting from Friday, 22 October and continuing until Friday, 5 November. The accreditation desk will be open from Monday to Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Please note that journalists accredited to cover the meetings, coming from outside of Bonn, should make their own flight and hotel bookings and may wish to contact:
