COMMUNICATIONS FROM PARTIES INCLUDED IN ANNEX I TO THE CONVENTION

1. The secretariat has concluded reviews of first national communications from Annex I Parties and started in-depth reviews of second ones (see FCCC/SBI/1998/INF.1). The selection of review team members is being made on the basis of the list of government-nominated experts (see annex I below).

   
   
   

2. In response to the invitation to the Parties to review the list of these experts contained in document FCCC/SBI/1997/CRP.7 and distributed at the seventh session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation, the secretariat has received corrections and amendments from a number of Parties. However, this revision is not yet complete. Parties are kindly requested to review the attached list and forward to the secretariat any corrections or additional nominations. Nominations from non-Annex I Parties are encouraged, especially from those Parties which did not nominate any experts in the past.

   
   
   

3. Parties are kindly reminded that nominations should be submitted to the secretariat via the official channels of communication and using the nomination form in annex II below. Without the nomination forms the secretariat is not in a position to propose experts for participation in in-depth reviews since the information on their field of expertise and languages, as well as their curricula vitae, is crucial for the selection process.
