Loss and Damage Block | 2nd Capacity-building Hub

Wednesday 11 December 2019

Skype live broadcast

The COP established the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage to address loss and damage associated with impacts of climate change, including extreme events and slow onset events, in developing countries that are particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change. It is important to count these vulnerable groups as agents of change, rather than victims, to be able to include them in the solutions needed for a changing climate.

Programme Overview

The Executive Committee of the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage organized a half-day block during the 2nd Capacity-building Hub, highlighting capacity-building components in the committee's workplan, particularly focusing on strengthening dialogue, coordination, coherence and synergies among relevant stakeholders. Other organizations working on the issue also presented their unique work on addressing loss and damage.
