Expert Group on Technology Transfer

The Expert Group on Technology Transfer (EGTT) was established at the seventh session of the COP, with the objective of enhancing the implementation of Article 4, paragraph 5, of the Convention, including by analysing and identifying ways to facilitate and advance technology transfer activities and making recommendations to the SBSTA. At its thirteenth session, the COP agreed to reconstitute the EGTT for a further five years and that the EGTT should provide advice as appropriate to the subsidiary bodies. The COP, at its sixteenth session decided to terminate the mandate of the EGTT at the conclusion of its sixteenth session.

Meetings

The EGTT met twice a year, usually in conjunction with the sessions of the subsidiary bodies. Additional EGTT meetings were organized inter-sessionally.

Documents of the EGTT

The EGTT provided a report at each session of the subsidiary bodies with a view to seeking guidance for further actions. The EGTT also prepared documents in response to requests by the SBSTA and SBI to facilitate and advance the development and transfer of technology under the Convention.
