The Bonn May Climate Change Conference focused on providing a space for governments to explore how to enhance climate technology development and transfer. At this conference, the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice continued elaborating the Technology Framework. The Subsidiary Body for implementation kept on elaborating the modalities and procedures of the periodic assessment of the Technology Mechanism. At this technical expert meeting session, key actors discussed how innovative approaches to urban planning, policies and technology solutions can deliver emission reductions and generate sustainable development benefits in cities. Cooperation amongst Parties is critical for addressing the challenges that go along with implementing the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda. The event looked at how cooperation amongst the global south could complement traditional cooperation approaches and discussed ways to promoting these efforts. At this event, the Technology Executive Committee showcased its new TEC brief on "South-South cooperation and triangular cooperation in technologies for adaptation for water and agriculture".
