Momentum for Change: 2012 call for activities
|

The UNFCCC secretariat called for projects/initiatives/programmes (activities) to be submitted for
consideration and possible selection as the 2012 Momentum for Change ‘lighthouse
projects’, to be showcased at COP 18/CMP 8 in Doha, Qatar from 26 November to 7 December 2012.
The submission period was from 1 June 2012 to 13 July 2012. The criteria to be met can be found

Over 100 applications were received and the Momentum for Change Advisory Panel is in the process of
selecting the ‘lighthouse projects’, which will be announced before COP 18/CMP 8 in
Doha, Qatar .
All activities which have met the basic eligibility criteria will be included in the Momentum for
Change website. The information entered into the application form by the registered applicant, will
comprise the basis for the entry, including a link to the activity’s own website.

What are the ‘lighthouse’ projects?
|
|
|
|
The Momentum for Change Advisory Panel will be select a small number of activities to be presented at
a showcase event at COP 18/CMP 8 in Doha, Qatar from 26 November to 7 December 2012. The submitted
activities will be assessed against the selection criteria and chosen as examples of activities that
further the objectives of Momentum for Change.
Representatives of the lighthouse projects will be asked to participate in the showcase event at COP
18/CMP 8, where they will play an important role in presenting the achievements of and lessons
learned through their project.
Please note that no funding is provided for selected projects (some financial support may be
supplied for travel of representatives from developing countries.
