Schoolchildren from the Austrian towns of Bregenz and Rust put their best foot forward in protecting the
global climate by kicking off the 2008 ZOOM Campaign during a visit to Haus Carstanjen on March 4. The
children were welcomed by by Richard Kinley, Deputy Executive Secretary of the UN Climate Change
Secretariat.
Now in its seventh year, the successful environmental campaign once again invites youngsters from the four
corners of Europe to lead by example and collect “green footprints” by making their day-to-day
journeys in an environmentally-friendly way.
128,000 children participated in the 2007 ZOOM campaign, amassing an impressive 1,457,039 Green Footprints
– equal to 36 times around the world.
