The World Climate Change Community will miss Joke's passion, commitment, and dedication. I recall her
unwavering support to the CDM Executive Board, in particular, during my time as Chair of the Board. The CDM
Executive Board has lost a true supporter.
-Dr John Kilani - Member of the CDM Executive Board
The International Chamber of Commerce was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Joke Waller-Hunter.
Throughout her career, she had worked tirelessly to ensure that business expertise and solutions were part of
the sustainable development dialogue at OECD, the UN Commission on Sustainable Development, and the UNFCCC. She
is one of a kind, and we feel privileged to have worked with her as a partner, and will miss her leadership,
spirit and sharp intelligence. We extend our sincere condolences to her family and colleagues.
-Guy Sebban, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce
All of us at the Campaign for a Hydrogen Economy are shocked and saddened by this death. We mourn a strikingly
energetic and effective fighter for the protection of our climate. Sincere condoleances to those who had the
luck to be close to her.
-Mike Koefman, Secretary, CHEC
It was with great sadness that I learned of the death of Joke and my condolences go out to her family, friends
and staff. I am sure their sadness is mixed with great pride in her life and achievements and happy memories of
a remarkable person. From when I first met Joke as a fellow delegate to UNCED preparations my admiration grew
and grew of her integrity, quiet determination, patience, knowledge and judgement, all reinforced with a dry
sense of humour. She was an exceptional person who will be greatly missed.
-Michael Massey, former UK delegate
