Twitter chat with Christiana Figueres and Thomas Kerr on innovative climate finance - 12 April 2013, 14:00 - 15:00 GMT

On 12 April, Executive Secretary Christiana Figueres hosted a live Twitter chat to discuss the role of innovative finance in responding to climate change. The live chat coincided with the launch of the call for applications for Momentum for Change: Financing for Climate-friendly Investment in partnership with the World Economic Forum. The chat was joined by Thomas Kerr, Director of the WEF's Climate Change and Green Growth Initiatives.

“Momentum for Change: Financing for Climate-friendly Investment” is designed to showcase “lighthouse activities” which represent innovative and successful financing mechanisms and approaches to curb greenhouse emissions or help people adapt to the inevitable effects of climate change. To kick off the discussion, Christiana Figueres asked to hear about successful examples of innovative finance the Twitter audience knows of or is personally working on.

To participate in the Twitter chats, all you need is a Twitter account. Follow the hashtag #M4C (standing for “Momentum for Change”) to keep track of the conversation and use the same hashtag in your posts if you would like to join the conversation. If you want to ask Christiana Figueres a question, you can address the question to @CFigueres.
