Parties conclude two weeks of negotiations and talks in Bonn The twenty-sixth sessions of the
Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) of
the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change was held from 7-18 May 2007. The meeting included the
third session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG)
and the third workshop under the Dialogue on long-term cooperative action to address climate change by enhancing
implementation of the Convention. The twenty-sixth sessions of the Subsidiary Bodies (SB) and the third session of
the Ad Hoc Working Group (AWG) adopted a wide range of conclusions that will be forwarded to the United Nations
Climate Change Conference in Bali. In the lead-up to the December conference, the Government of Austria will host
AWG 4 and the fourth workshop of the Dialogue on long-term action under the Convention. Both will take place in
Vienna from 27-31 August 2007.

Expert Group on Technology Transfer: Five years of work The Expert Group on Technology
Transfer was established in 2001 with the aim to advance the technology transfer activities under the
Convention.
Over the last five years, the work of the EGTT has become results oriented, with the production of targeted and
instructive products that Parties can use as they undertake their specific actions and strategies to address
climate change. This booklet provides an overview of EGTT achievements over the last five years including status of
its work in various areas such as technology needs assessments, technology information, enabling environments,
innovative financing for technology transfer, and technologies for adaptation to climate change.

Brochure on innovative options for financing the development and transfer of technologies
The work of the Expert Group on Technology Transfer in the area of innovative financing aims to improve access to
financing from a wide variety of available sources, in order to realize the increasing number of technology
transfer projects. The EGTT with the assistance of the secretariat has undertaken a number of activities,
including organization of workshops and preparation of documents and publications. Among others, a guidebook on
preparing technology transfer projects for financing and a technical paper on innovative options for financing the
development and transfer of technologies recently published is an outstanding product. This brochure is based on
the latter technical paper and written in a user friendly language aiming at making this information available to a
wider audience.

The Nairobi Work Programme
The secretariat has produced a booklet to provide organizations and Parties with a concise overview of the Nairobi
work programme, including its aims, areas of work, and details of submissions. It also elaborates on the
avenues available for getting involved.
