COP 19 by its decision 19/CP.18, adopted the common tabular format for the “UNFCCC biennial reporting
guidelines for developed country Parties”, noting that developed country Parties, in accordance with
decision 2/CP.17, shall use the reporting guidelines for the preparation of their biennial reports and will
provide information on all the elements of the guidelines in these reports. Also, COP 19 requested the
secretariat to develop an electronic reporting application for the common tabular format (biennial reporting
common tabular format (BR CTF) application). The BR CTF application was released by the secretariat for
Parties’ use in July 2013.
Following provisions of decision 19/CP.18, developed country Parties shall use the electronic reporting
application taking into account their national circumstances when preparing and submitting their biennial
reports. BR1 and BR CTF should be submitted to the secretariat through the BR CTF application.
The second release of the BR CTF application is foreseen for middle October 2013. The users will be invited
to test this second release in the end of September. More information on the time and access to this release
will be provided to the registered users of the application in due course.
Questions related to the use of BR CTF application should be addressed to: Reporting_Review@unfccc.int
