Multilateral assessment process Japan

The first multilateral assessment (MA) of Japan took place at the Working Group Session (WGS) under the SBI 42 in Bonn on 4 June 2015. The aim of this session is to assess Japan's progress in implementation towards the achievement of emission reductions and removals related to its quantified economy-wide emission reduction targets.

The WGS is preceded by a three-month period of questions and answers in the lead-up to the SBI session in Bonn when the MA will take place.

Questions to Japan should be submitted via the MA-Portal from 1 to 31 March 2015. For Parties to access the MA-Portal, log-in credentials are required and these have been provided to relevant persons nominated by Parties to access the Portal on their behalf.

A compilation of questions to Japan was published on 1 April 2015 and was replaced with a full compilation of questions and answers on 31 May 2015 (pdf-icon Q&A (224 kB) ).
