Informal discussion on a more effective dialogue between Parties and regional and international
climate change research programmes and organizations in the context of decision 9/CP.11
|
8 May 2007, Hotel Maritim, Bonn
Background and mandate
At its 24th session, the SBSTA noted the need for enhancing two-way communication and
cooperation between Parties and regional and international climate change research programmes to meet the
research needs of the Convention. It agreed to explore how it might facilitate a more effective
dialogue between Parties and those research programmes, in the context of decision 9/CP.11. To
further facilitate the development of the dialogue, it asked the secretariat to organize, at the
26th session of the SBSTA, a meeting for an informal discussion among Parties, and to invite
representatives of regional and international climate change research programmes and the IPCC to
participate.
